Hey, all.
Im spending some time in the Raleigh/Durham area over the Thanksgiving holiday. Anybody know what yards may have some of our trucks? Looking online isnt really helping me. Thanks for your help.

You might try PM ing Luvlegs,I know he has a couple spotted but he may be a bit shy about giving up any of his sources.

new areas i always check the yellow pages//look for established dates the ones that are old are the best bets

Hoknod, I'm PMing you some directions - and yes, to my honey hole also, but I think it's pretty well picked clean at this point with the exception of large body parts. I think it only fair, if you find a couple tachs there should be a finders fee... one tach! HAHAHHAHAAHHAHAH

I rarely find any in the few yards I frequent, like Luv said mostly picked over when you do find them. On my last round of searching I found one old C10 LWB at LKQ in Clayton, another at Jackson Auto Salvage in Raleigh, and few misc C10s at Young's in Dudley. Nothing really worth mentioning though. I have never looked west of the Raleigh area, might be some stuff out that way.

Have a safe trip, that is a pretty long drive. Done it myself before, one of my buddies used to live in Rochester.

There used to be several around the Louisburg area north of Raliegh, back in the country. My cousin is a minister there and have saw quite a few sitting behind barns and around old farms while visiting. May be a junkyard up that way.

Thanks for all of the info, guys. I found a couple, but like you said, mostly picked over. I even found the yard I went to 4 years ago, but I think with the cost of scrap, all these yards are crushing all of the older , heavier stuff.

Ive got one more place to check today, wish me luck.

There is a place not far from me called Young's Auto Salvage. It's on Hwy 242 outside of Benson. I haven't checked it out but there could be something there...

anything good is gonna be in the woods. That sounds so hickish.. but its the truth. drive away from raleigh, look at farms, look at feilds and just be careful when you go down dirt roads that you dont know
