The Inside Scoop on Suburban Patch Panels

I received a PM question on the subject so I thought it may be useful to others. Here's what I've learned about the Suburban specific patches:

The patches for the rear wheel well areas go like this:

Front/lower rear wheel well uses what the catalogs call out for the Blazers. Don't use a truck patch there.

Rear/lower rear wheel well can use a truck patch, but the stamped repop parts do not have the crease along the inside of the wheel arch (in my experience), so get them from a donor longbed truck.

They make a Suburban specific part for that area at like $120ea but you only need it if you're replacing all the way back and around the reverse light area to the tailgate.

Hope this helps someone and please chime in if there's more insight on the subject.

Re: The Inside Scoop on Suburban Patch Panels

We have the Suburban rear lower quarter patch for $79.95. For the front lower sections you are far better using cut up rockers than pickup patches as long as the rust isn't higher than what a rocker would cover. The Blazer front, rear quarter lower patch works for the area in front of the rear wheel wells, but has to be modified to fit the back plate. WES
