Looking for a fuel sending unit
My fuel guage does not work on my 63. I figure it is the sending unit. LMC has one for about $50 but was wondering if there is another place to get one cheaper. Or maybe someone here has one for real cheap.

Re: Looking for a fuel sending unit
Bought mine at the local jobber in town. They will usually give guys working on stuff [just ask for the good guy price] about 30% off list. Nothing speical about a sending unit that I would pay shipping and handling for unless I was ordering other stuff at the same time. Even then parts like these come from the same source that the local jobbers are buying wholesale from.
esll.

Re: Looking for a fuel sending unit
You know, I didn't even think of that
I'll check with the local NAPA and Auto Zone before I order one. |

Re: Looking for a fuel sending unit
Well, so much for local availability:
NAPA---$108 but they can't even order one Auto Zone---Don't even show a part number Carquest---$220 plus $15 for the strainer I'll gladly pay $30 plus shipping before I'll pay that |

Re: Looking for a fuel sending unit
I bought my last one as a spare to the one I have now from the auto wreckers, [not for sale.] Do you have an auto wrecker where you are? If so it'll be about $5.00 bucks and taking them out is quick and easy. Grab the rubber gasket as well. These are the kind of things I grab if I make a trip to the wreckers whether I need them or not.
$30.00 bucks plus shipping is a reasonable alternative as well. I just hate paying the shipping and all the other charges if I don't have to.
