rear bumper supplier, trim/rust repair
I bought this 1970 CST/C10 all original with 70,000 miles on it earlier this week. body is straight, but I do have a couple little spots of rust under the right door trim. Is there an easy way of removing the trim so that I can do some spot sanding/primer/painting? The remaining paint is excellent but I want to stop the cancer and am not ready to repaint the entire truck. Also, the rear bumper is rusty, anyone know of a good supplier for a replacement?

Yep, I saw that and have visited the websites, was hoping for a recommendation from someone who had recently purchased a rear bumper and was happy with what they had received. Thanks

I just purchased a rear chrome bumper from Kingsparts and was please with the quality and price. I think he also gives discount to board members.

I restored my truck and I bought a buttload of new parts from a lot of different suppliers. I was pretty much happy with the fit of every thing EXCEPT the door panels. The are not even close to the fit of the originals. My truck had a few places where the hole for the trim clips was causing surface rust. After removing the trim,a little sanding was all that was needed to get back to solid metal. I hope yours is as easy.

Ochre/White/Ochre Runs well... working on body. Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend. Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

TomHand, I hear you on the door panels! The set I bought are not even remotely similar to the originals in fit and quality. This is especially true if you have the woodgrain inserts - there's no way to make them fit in the new panels where they look like the originals. I'm thinking I will dye my originals and put them back on. If you want to see all the problems I had with the reproductions check it out here:
