turn a Sub into a Tahoe

i spend most of my time here in the 67-72 pickup and Blazer section. so i was snooping around in here and i got this idea. i have seen some pictures of a Suburban cut down to a Tahoe size truck in the past and i really liked how it looked . so i guess i was wondering if you guys had any pictures or ideas of your own you could pass on to me. any info would be appriciated. hey Kevin ,this sound like a job for you. when and if you schedule ever opens up. thanks for your time . Tony for Auburn Ca.
here are some pics of what i have on my plate.

Here's a thread all about converting a sub to a tahoe.

Re: turn a Sub into a Tahoe

i always wanted a 2wd blazer. but as you know they are far and few between. so i went out and looked for the cleanest 4x4 i could find and i ran across this one . it turns out the guy had a 2wd blazer as well but he was not ready to part with that so i bought the 4x4. which was restored in 1992. this truck was parked in front of the guys house since 1996 because he thought the trans was messed up. it turned out it was the rearend. so i got it home and went throught the whole truck it was completely rust free. and straight as new could be.so as of now i have it in the garage and i am working on the convertion when i get time inbetween my other projects. so hopefully in the spring i will be rolling around in my 70 2wd Blazer, with full Airride set up and 20/20 Torque thrust D,700r and no top....... every year i try to have something to take to the shows. this will be the one for 08.Tony
oh, by the way i went back to the guy i got the 4x4 from . and lets just say i was able to tow the 2wd drive home as well.

Re: turn a Sub into a Tahoe

that is a great question! when and if ,now thats the answer. i seem to remember seeing a 2 door tahoe out there that looked like a 72 ,hugger orange with white let me see if i can find a picture of that one.as for now i have my hands full with my 69 lwb parts truck i am putting together . i don't plan on spending too much time with it but you know how that go's. i have a build list that can easily get out of hand. first i will finish the 69 lwb with parts i have laying around the shop, then i will get on to the Blazer in January. and just work on that. i tell you what i have been off and on with the Blazer and as this past year has gone by my plans with it have changed based on the progress that others have made on theirs like Gringoloco.his build has deffinetly influenced my build and the direction i plan on going.Tony

Ortega,
I have to agree. Mike has probably the most skilled build that I have ever seen. Unbelievable talent! Great work Mike!

Re: turn a Sub into a Tahoe

Hey thanks guys I'm just not afraid to fix my own mistakes, because I know I'll make them!

That hugger orange one is by a guy here in Oregon. He offers to do them for $10000 I'd do it for half that and you'd have a 3rd door ...if I had the room Better yet, break out the cutting devices and go for it
