Electric Fans
I had the Old Air Products twin electric fan kit on my 68 and it did what it was supposed to do but it was really loud. I was looking at the one from CPP and I wondered if any one had a similar setup and how loud it was. Also has anyone used a flex-a-lite radiator? If so what was the part number?

There was a thread a while back where someone used the fan from a newer vehicle in our original fan shroud, I think it came from a jeep. Looks like a realyy easy mod and the fans a cheap to get.

How loud are we talking for the Old Air setup? I was just about to pull the trigger on this but this is the second time I've hear about the loudness factor. Is it loud when the truck is running, or just during idle? The curved fans are supposed to be quieter than the straight ones like the CP setup. Let me know.

They are LOUD. I had a 350 with glass packs exiting right behind the cab and could still hear the fans over the engine at idle and up to about 3000 rpm after that you cant hear much but the thoughts in your own head.

I got The Flex-a-lites. With a BB and Flowmasters i have newer heard them. Thought about putting a small LED some where so I know there on

Do you know the part number of the flex a lite fan? Also do you have a flex a lite radiator with the fan combo. I was looking into that because I need to replace the radiator as well.

I started the Jeep fan before installing to see how noisy it is, and to me, it's not loud at all..........This does more some air.....I'll see after it is installed on the shroud......

These are duel 12" flex-a-lite fans that I use and sell with our kits and the are not loud. You can hear them run, but they are not obnoxious or anything like that. WES

Picked these up on EBAY. 2-14" fans. Made the shroud. Pretty quiet.

Great thread!!! And thanks for the needed project. I have a long question so here goes. I bought the jeep fan from the dealer and I have, what I think, is a electric fuel pump relay kit (given to me by my neighbor) from keep it clean. My question is, can I use this relay kit to hook up my electric fan. The kit is a 12V 30/40A relay, 16awg wiring, 30A circuit breaker and I purchased a thermal sensor for the 350 engine head. If I can use it, my relay numbers are 87, 86, 85 and 30. What number goes where to make this fan work. Oh yeah, my baby is a 67 stepside, short bed 350 Chevy. Thanks for any help that you can give me.
