Need your input

I found a 72 K-5 Blazer. It has a fuel injected 350 from a Corvette it looks to be done right, it has a 4" lift running 33" BFG's on American Racing rims. it has a soft top from some company out of Denver. From what I can see the drivers door is showing some rust coming to the surface.
My question is when I go to look at it to make him a offer what should I look for ? any spots more prone to rust than others. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I will try and get a few pictures on here so you can see what I'm looking at.

Re: Need your input

There are several trouble spots to look at for rust. First, pull the rubber seal around the upper windshield and look at the frame. These are not made in reproduction and are hard to find in good used shape. Also. look under any carpet or floor mats in both the front and rear bed area. Crawl under the rig and look at the rocker boxes. Those are most of the major areas to look for, but I am sure other will add to it. Remember, the body is the most expensive work to do on these rigs, so look at it first before making your decision. Good luck!!!

Re: Need your input

All of these generation trucks and blazers had rust issues on the passenger side fender right below where the battery sits, check that spot out, also look for little things like doors closing correctly (can be adjusted but still nice to not mess with). The only reason I bring the doors up is because mine barely close with top off and close fine with it on. Also when you're over looking the truck look for certain rarities like tilt, tack, tow hooks (72 specific are pretty hard to find) and see if it has a center console and what kind of shape it's in. Those things always add value and some people don't know what they have. Good luck with your purchase.
