Now see, if I had found that truck, I'd be excited about the 1 ton disc brakes and 14 bolt rearend! Great score!

Re: i robbed the junk yard blind!!

yeah i was looking at the break booster and asked my buddy that showed up to help me rob it and it didn't look like anything that i had seen and he said "oh yeah, thats a hydrolic break booster". i wonder how hard that would be to rig up to mine. all i got for breaks is power in the ol' leg breaks.

The hydro-boost is a great set-up for big cam motors with poor vacuum. It`s a bolt-in install,AFAIK.You`d want to grab everything including the pump which has an extra port.

Re: i robbed the junk yard blind!!

Yukon Jack Has a write up about hydroboost conversion. Just search for Hydroboost.
I did the swap last year. I used the booster, pump and hoses from an 80 1 ton van.
A few things to watch out for. Your power steering box has flared fittings and the tonner has metric o-ring fittings so either swap the box or make a custom hose from the booster to the steering box. You wiil also have to make a custom length pushrod from the pedal to the booster.

I would do it again in a heart beat, the pedal feels great

Make sure your hoses are in good condition. After my conversion the added presure swelled my original rear hose to the size of a golf ball and looked pretty scary.

Nice find!

I got a Doug Nash/US gear overdrive unit for $100. Too bad it is set up for Ford.

Re: i robbed the junk yard blind!!

It is a 2 speed unit that replaces the transmission tailhousing.
Much like a Gear Vendors except you have to let off to shift.
