1970 tilt column SPID

Somebody in a post wanted to see an SPID from 1970 with comfort tilt steering listed. Here you go. By the way, I dont know if this will create further disagreements, but the tilt had a chrome hazard button. It was from the factory that way. Unmolested and never serviced according to original owner.

Re: 1970 tilt column SPID

out of curiosity, do you have a pic of the sticker in the door jamb that shows the month it was built? 70 was a low production year due to a big strike, and I'm wondering if #65901 would be mid year, or towards the end of the year. Only wondering becouse there was speculation that it was an end of year intro on the thread where this was being discussed.

Andy

Will that be on the door or the cab jamb itself ? The doors are long gone, but the cab itself is still here.

Thanks Special-K

I will try to get pics as soon as I can. I just had shoulder surgery last weekend so it may not be possible for me to physically to get to it. It is in a really tight spot. Maybe i can find someone to do it for me.

I've always seen it on the drivers door, on my 70 longhorn CST/20, my 69 GMC (RIP the both of them) The '70 C/30 longhorn and my 72 C/20 burb... all of them were a blue sticker on the door.

Here's an SPID from a '69 LWB C-10, that had a few accessories, more like what you'd find on a Custom or CST, but it had a tach and speed minder. I have a few more pix of the 2-owner truck.

The label that Andy is talking about would be found on the drivers door.

Re: 1970 tilt column SPID

I do remember the blue sticker on the door. I read the one on this truck, but I dont remember what date was on it. The door has been gone for at least 3 years. I guess someone else will have to give more definate proof of the earliest date that a tilt was installed. For some reason the date of 4/70 on the blue sticker comes to mind, but I have no proof.
