Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

Amassing parts for an interior change...
first pic - starting point
second pic - panels after soap and water but before oxyclean....
third pic - visor and one belt... me likkeee

I take it, it's normal that all the parchement belts and visors, clips, etc are more like a light yellow but the door panels are closer to white?

Re: Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

try to find some cleaner by the name of Spray 9 and scrub your panels with it. You'll be amazed. I've been spraying that stuff since the early 90's and honestly, it still surprises me from time to time.

It's amazing what a little soap and elbow grease will do. Chris

Re: Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

Soap and water is probably the most under rated of all. I've been using the marine spray nine for the past 12 years on everything - the kids wouldn't even walk by me! Need to pick up some for the house - it's too far to go to the boat to get what's there.

Try some Wessley's Bleach White and a brush. Wet them down with a hose, spray some on and scrub. That stuff works good. I had a 75 T-A with white interior.

All my parchment parts are slightly different in white when you get them out of the truck. When you get them inside, you can't tell the difference. That cleaning sure helped yours like it did mine.

Re: Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

Got most of the belts finished last night - once they dried, they look killer! They have a few rust stains and ink spots - they've faded but I still have to figure out how to get them out the rest of the way... or not worry because that parts under the seat..... ahahha

Re: Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

Looks great there! Parchment and white panels are so hard tokeep clean but looks like the oxyclean worked great on them!

Re: Just a little cleaning makes a HUGE difference

Actually, the pic of the door panels is after soap and water and BEFORE the oxyclean - the last visor/belt pic is how those came out though after the oxy.
