Slap sticks???????
I think thats what there called, those gear shifters that you can use like normal automatics, but when you want you can put it in first and "slap" it to shift. Does anyboby make one or something similar to it for older trucks? I want to put one on my 89 Silverado.

B&M Truck Mega-shifter is the basic same type of thing. It has a reverse lock out to keep you from going into reversa at a high speed. I have one in my 91 Silverado and my 84 GMC, also my son's 86 Silverado. They work real well.

Re: Slap sticks???????
Thanks pieces, do you mind if I ask where you got yours and what you paid? I am going to be putting a center console sub box in my truck, so I would like to find one that I could mount to the side of the sub box with out having to do much fabricating. Or I may just find some parts, and fabricate my own style.

As for purchasing one, I got mine through Summit Racing--Jegs also sells them and they are comparible in price, but I personally never had good luck dealing with Jegs. You may want to ook at the above websites and decide on what you want before looking at purchasing, then you will be more knowlegeable in what you are purchasing. The prices appear to be around $189.00 to $205.00 on the average--not a lot of difference in the overall picture--get what you want. I also opted for the round billet shift ball, instead of the "T" handle, because of the ease of handling in everyday driving. That would be your choice. |
