I know this has been covered before but I forget, will spindles from a 75 swap onto a 72, by changing the ball joints and tie rods, what about the rotors and calipers?

The easiest way from what I remember is to swap the entire crossmember.

Yes,they will swap using the 72 arms,& just changing balljoints& tierod ends. Your 72 already has disc brakes.........are you going to a dropped spindle?........69

yea I ran across a set of drop spindles for a 75 pretty chaeap, just wondering if I can use them

I cant say for sure on the rotors,but i think they will fit........you might run it by your favorite parts store to be sure. Good luck .........69

Hi, someone told me that there are two types of spindles. One type is for a 1-1/4 thick disc brake rotor and one is for a 1" thick rotor. Good luck

1.25" wa sonly on Big10 and Heavy Half GMC models, you have no worry over that in this case though,
happy swapping.

If you have the 1.25" thick 75 rotors, I think they are the same as the 72 rotors. You will need the 73-87 outer tie rod ends, but they are the same length and will bolt to the 71-72 cross link. You will also need 73-87 upper ball joints --lowers are the same on 71-87. Why the heck are you doing this anyway? All 72s have disc brakes, right?

Just noticed you are doing this for dropped spindles. Man, don't mess up your truck with suspension parts from various years. Just save up $240 and buy some new 71-72 dropped spindles from GMC Pauls or Early Classic. That way, your tie rod ends and ball joints will be stock 71-72.
