External Fuel Cell

I received a 15gal. fuel cell for free, it would have to mounted in the bed. Was wondering what peoples thoughts are on fuel cells, what are the pros and cons. What is needed to make the conversion on a 64GMC SWBFS? Thanks for you opinions.

Mike

Re: External Fuel Cell

You shouldn't use it and give it to me? haha, just messin.

You can make or buy some brackets to have it at the rear of the frame under the bed. Other than that you just need to run longer fuel lines to the cell.

Re: External Fuel Cell

Cons are higher center of gravity with the fuel up high and difficulty in making the gauge sender work. Along with making your bed worthless.

Pro: If you tube out the wheelwells it would look sweet with a fuel cell.

David, I have a fuel tank for you, has a few small pin holes. I hear those are great on gas mileage with the added O2. LOL!

Re: External Fuel Cell

damn. wish i could get my hands on one. since my truck is sitting on a mid 70's 2wd blazer frame, the conversion on mine would be alot easier. i hate the fact that my motor is eating brown gas

Re: External Fuel Cell

hey thanks jerry. if i got one i would try to mount it between the rails since my 60 is sitting on a mid 70's 2wd blazer frame. odd i know, but i didn't start this project of mine. i kinda figured that you wouldn't find one. so i'm thinking of making one
