Ok guys...I am getting ready to buy body/cab cushions-mounts...any opinion of the rubber verses the poly material?

poly lasts longer and gives your cab a more "solid" feel.

Lots of guys here have said that they don't like the polyurethane mounts. Some have said they squeek too much and others have said the ride is too stiff and like the ride of the rubber ones better.

I'm considering the rubber ones for mine.

with badchev69, poly costs more but is better than rubber. poly shouldn't squeak at all if you grease them right

I put mine together about 8 years ago now and haven't had a squeak or crack in them yet. The rubber ones will be cheaper but a lot of the aftermarket ones i have seen (like my fathers) have fallen apart in a matter of a few years.

Unless you can find original GM rubber mounts, go with the poly. The aftermarket rubber mounts are more comfortable than the poly, but they fall apart sooner.

i used the rubber ones. softer ride plus by the time they wear out the truck will need re built anyways

I just bought OEM rubber mounts and I love them. I bought mine through ECE.

Supposedly the black poly mounts are impregnated with with graphite to help eliminate/reduce squeaks. At least that is what Energy Suspension's website claims. I put the red poly ones on my 69 Suburban and haven't had a problem with squeaks. It made a huge difference in the feel of the truck (it still had the original bushings on it,

). It definitely made it feel "sportier" (is that a word?!). It was the best $115 I spent on the truck as far as the ride goes (and that includes the airbags!).

Looks like I am leaning towards the poly mounts....so far.

I have poly on the longhorn......with the tilt front clip, I didnt know where the clutch would let out, it squirmed all over with the rubber bushings. The poly does make the ride a tad harsher, but the doors shut better, & the clutch lets up where I want it to

Money well spent IMO! I dont have any squeaks either, but would reccomend rubber for a 4wd that you run off road, to give a little more flex.

I just did a search and there is a lot of support for both sides. The squeaking "noise" is an issue with some but the use of graphite poly cushions seem to have solved this issue. Again thanks for all the input as this is helpful.

This is my take on rubber vs poly. Suspension gets poly & body mounts rubber. Thats what I'm doing on my current project. I've broken two cab mounts ( The bracket thats rivited to the frame ) using poly mounts. Both were on 4x4's. I believe it was do to the poly not being able to give enough when the frame is being flexed. You maybe fine with a 2 wd truck or a 4x4 that doesn't go off-road.

i got poly on my truck and it straightened out my body and made it sit higher than bed but i like the ride better but never had new rubber mounts i would recomend poly though
