Upper control arm?

Just wondering if anyone has modified there upper control arms to help with ball joint angle on lowered trucks? I did a search but came up empty.

It will be on bags. seems the ball joint holds it up some.

what is your set up in the front? Do you ahve the plates on top and cups on the bottom?

I had to do it to get the truck to lay out the front with the rear aired up. Probably could have gotten away with out doing this, but I'm more comfortable knowing my ball joints aren't binding.

you could mark a straight line behind the ball joint plate on the stock arms, cut up the sides, lay the truck out and it will bend the plate up to lay out, then you weld it back together. its called pie cutting.

or you can get a set of tubular control arms.

Pretty much what I did, but a little more involved then that. The stock arm changes anlges in 3 directions in relation to the cross shaft line, so i had to cut out the center of the arm(like in the picture), traced a strait line behind the ball joint plate, and transfered it down the side of the arm. I cut the arm using a plasma cutter, placed it in the vice, bent it and cut some more. I did this until I got them to the angle I wanted, and welded them back together.

for all of that, i would of just spent a few hours, jigged em up and made a pair of tubulars with uniballs for travel or ball joints for ease of changing them if they go bad.

but what you did def looks good.
