85 Carb "H" engine code help!

I have an 85 with an "H" engine code (305) and I'm having the carb rebuilt. Does anyone have an extra electrical connector for the harness that connects to the right front corner of the carb? It is on a short harness extension that goes from the main loom to the carb and on to the coolant temp sensor. If so email me and let me know if your willing to part with it.

Could you get a picture of it? We removed quite a bit of wiring like that when we installed a Holley... I'm pretty sure we kept everything, but wouldn't know what it looks like....

I'll post a picture later. I'm curious how did swapping out the Qjet for a Holley turn out? Was your truck an 85 with an 305 "H" code engine? What part number Holley did you go with and what was the CFM of it?

We pretty much ditched all the computer control/smog/emissions stuff on it... went with a 600cfm Holley we had sitting around. It was squarebore, so we used and adapter. We made a block-off plate for the EGR, swapped in an older HEI from a 76, got rid of the smog pump, and put on the Holley. Recently, we added a weiand action plus intake. Overall, very pleased with the truck... it is the 305 H code.

I'll look for that when I get home...

Why did you have to change the HEI distributor? Mine has a vacumm advance. I would have thought is would have worked with the Holley just fine. My QJet has no throttle position sensor did yours?

The HEI that comes on them stock has the electronic spark control. It gives some people problems, and does not seem to help anything. I replaced mine, too. Aftermarket HEIs are so cheap now, it is hard to justify keeping an old worn ESC HEI.

I may have an extra harness. I'll have to check for you. I want to keep one just in case. Both look a little rough.

The dealer had all of the right connectors to build a new little harness when I was looking to replace mine, but the plugs were pricey. You might look into that. Oh, and an auto parts place I went into that sells AC Delco stuff had all of those connectors, and they were cheaper than the dealer. You might check locally.

I checked with the dealer and they said it was discontinued in 99. I found a parts store that said they might be able to help with the connector once I got the carb back. The carb connector on the harness is burnt beyond recognition. The wire and the other two are ok. Hey if you have one a photo of the carb connector might help. On mine it is the tan connector that has two wires running form it. Thanks!

I dug through all the wiring and didn't find it, sorry! If you don't find one, I'll check some trucks at the local junkyard...
