Thumbs down Dissasembly help.

Ok, so with this truck I just bought, there are a few things I want to remove, but know nothing about. I haven't ever worked on a Chevy truck.

I know right?

(I've been working on Fords for a while... Mostly because my friend got his hands on a '67 Mustang GTA)

So I said, I need more power than that. and thats where I am at now. Proud owner of a '75 Chevy C-10 Silverado LWB Heavy Half.

Well through the years some unwanted stuff has been added to the truck (unwanted by me)
  1. A heavy duty bumper w/ hitch
  2. A brake controller
  3. A camper shell
  4. An aftermarket dual gas tank setup...
  5. And the dreaded speaker holes in the doors...

I am just wondering if anyone would possibly know how to get rid of these, or if anyone would want any after they are removed.

(Camper shell i can handle xD)

the ones i really am not sure about are the Brake Controller, and the Aftermarket dual gas tank setup... (uses the original and another.) Anyone know what I would need to do to remove them. Any help getting me set in the right direction is great.

I love this forum, you all have been such a help!
Rock on guys!

Re: Dissasembly help.

Bumper- unbolt,or grind off bolts, or use a torch and burn them off

Aftermarket tank- would need to see pics, sure it isnt a factory aux tank?
you could leave it alone or follow the bumper instructions but be careful of the fumes/sparks-torch

Brake controller- should just unplug [not sure on that one]

Speaker holes- put speakers back in,weld holes shut, or cut yourself a piece of carpet that goes the whole width of the door bottom and cover the hole, or buy new doors

Re: Dissasembly help.

the PO of my truck cut holes in the doors for 6X9 speakers i just bought a pair of used doors and am going to replace them holes are usually too much work to fix like that
big block is right about the bumper and the brake controller
the dual tanks you should be able to just drop the estra tank and plug up the lines or temove them at the t fittings and make em single lines pics would be best tho to properly advise
