Doors Won't Open When It's Cold Outside
My 98 GMC 3500's doors won't open when it's cold outside. Happens every time the temps fall well below freezing. The truck has manual door locks so I know the problem is in the doors themselves. The previous owner had the same complaint and I have since replaced the hinge bushings and pins. Anybody ever had this problem? What's the fix? Thanks

The doors aren't frozen shut. It's more like the linkage or latch parts don't work right when it's colder.

Re: Doors Won't Open When It's Cold Outside
Pop the door skin off and spray everything with zep 2000 or something similar. Its not the quickest job, and if you have a heated garage put the truck in there and let the plastic warm up for a while before doing it. Also pull the handle from the outside while watching everything inside the door and look for excessively worn parts.
