bucket seat mounting
I got these seats at a local salvage yard for $40.00. Now I can't decide how to mount them. I plan on moving the gas tank soon, but I don't know if they will have more adjustment in one position or the other. What seams better pic 1 or 2? any opinions welcome! thanks in advance.

I would mount it like its shown in pic 1, with one modification. I would run a piece of tubular steel (maybe 1"x2"?) lengthwise across the rear of the seat brackets to level it out, angle the outer edge and cover with carpet. If you mount it as shown in the 2nd pic you will have no rear travel and it looks like it might be all the way forward.

I am putting seats like that in my 68, (the seats came out of a 98 Chevy Suburban). Hoever; since the cab top was chopped 3", I took about 2 1/2" out of the center of the seat brackets (I welded them back together and smoothed them out to look real close to original shpe)and notched them to fit around the floor shapes and humps,so that they will sit flat. This lowered my seats to fit just right for my cab.
