LT1 Install Project

Just picked up low mileage 94 F Body LT1, Complete harness and all accessories. Finding some good info on here and the net.
Wondering about accelerator cable, which to use?

Has anyone used the factory manifolds off the Camaro?

How drastic is the frame notch for those that kept the F body brackets???

Any other advice or encouragement would be great.

Re: LT1 Install Project

I've used factory manifolds from an early motor on an LT1 and it worked pretty good. You might be able to use your ram horns. As far as everything else, the best resource by far is Street & Performance in Mena, Arkansas.

Re: LT1 Install Project

I have a 94 Corvette LT1 in my 72. Get a cable from a late 90's Caprice. It will work just fine. I had to cut a slot in the end of the gas pedal arm for the cable end. The Corvette manifolds didn't work for me. The manifolds of the original engine bolted up but didn't match the ports very well so I went with the S&P headers.

Good luck with the install and if you can get the 6 cyl mounts, they work great too.

I did the same swap but went with v8 mounts, Sanderson headers and I shortened the caprice/impala cable for a cleaner look. Look up my board name and "Shell Games" for some more pics. Also I went with the Painless RPM harness and computer. I also used the factory vett brackets with out any problem but yours are on the other side so that is of no help to you.
