Lets see those stereos...
I was wanting to see pictures/videos of everyone's stereo. I believe I probably have the loudest and most expensive one on the board. Let's see them guys.
^Pioneer Prem. DEH-880 ^Diamond Audio D661i Coax ^Diamond Audio D661i Coax ^Kx2500.1 Hidden under the sub box. ^Kx250.2 Hidden behind the passenger seat. ^Digital Designs DD9512 ^Digital Designs DD9512 Here's a video. YouTubes crap quality takes out most of the flexing you can see normally. Metal doesn't flex like plastic. I'm hitting in the high 140's with this single sub setup. I need to build another box though with lower tuning because this one bottoms on on EXTREME low notes. Sometime this week I'll get a picture under the hood of the second battery (Batcap 2000). Re: Lets see those stereos...
Holy crap......you ever get hit in the drivers door and that think comes loose....you're a dead man!
That's a big woofer and who needs a spare change tray....you could probably stick $400 worth of quarters to that magnet! How often do you have to retighten all the fasteners holding your truck together?

Re: Lets see those stereos...
Do the speakers in the door get wet or messed up due to the weather?

And I've only had two screws come out or loosen. One, the rear view mirror, causing it to fall down, and the other, the passenger side mirror. It fell off going down the road lol. |

[QUOTE=Pl4yboy;2493600]I know that a company makes some rubber covers that can be screwed in above them, and I was going to buy some but couldn't ever find them again./QUOTE]
Crutchfield sells them.

Re: Lets see those stereos...
look at that sub, besides losing my hearing, I'd lose all my fillings to the magnet as well

Re: Lets see those stereos...
matthufham,
Do you have any more pictures of what you did to make the speaker inclosure in the corner of your cab. I like the idea just haven't seen a good way of doing it yet. Are you going to have some kind of box are just using the cab wall for the backside?

Re: Lets see those stereos...
Less than $100 WITH SPEAKERS at JC Whitney. Sounds as good to me as any and all of the above set-ups. The speakers are mounted in the dash next to each other in a factory mono speaker holder. And no damage to the dash.
Pl4yboy: By "hitting the high 140s" I'm assuming you mean you listen to that set-up while it is cranking out 140 dB of sound. Note that sound begins to damage your hearing when it is above 85 dB. Though the pain may be temporary, the damage isn't. Think about the future. My father-in-law who spent his 70+ years behind a running tractor engine with no hearing protection can't hear a word my daughter - his granddaughter - is saying.

Pioneer DEH-880PRS MB Quart 5.25" and 6.5" components Pioneer shallow mount 10's and ARC Audio FD4100 amp (under bow tie) Everything has been ripped out from the truck though and a new complete ARC Audio system is being put in. (4) ARC 10D2 subs (3) ARC6000 components (1) KS300.4 amp (1) KS1000.1 amp (1) PEQ preamp EQ

Going with coaxials instead of components because you don't want to make more cuts seems strange because you have to have cut the doors to mount those speakers anyway...

Re: Lets see those stereos...
Thanks for sharing that. I thought you did. I have herd there is some material you can heat and make it confirm to the wall of the cab without welding has anyone herd of it.

Re: Lets see those stereos...
its custom but also permanent. cut out the ashytray opening to the gas switch made a frame around stereo out if 1/2 balsa strips then fiberglassed it. relocated switch to where radio used to be.
