99 GMC Suburban Drive train

Hey All,

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Now to my ?

I have a chance to buy (cheap I hope ) a 99 GMC Suburban (4x4) from a friend after me wrecked it a couple weeks ago. I want to put the Motor and Tranny (w/o the transfer case) in to my 69 short bed 2 wheel drive.

I know that the computer has to be re-proggrammed and such. But will I be able to use the tranny by removing the transfer case and installing another tail housing? how much trouble is a 99 (OBD-2) to have re-programmed and set up as I need?
