My lettered non-lettered tailgate

nate68...Here's the 2003 part numbers for ya...The silver ones on the orange tailgate were pn15707445 (changed to 15182982) You can get black (GM calls it charcoal); part numbers are 15707449 or 15182971. Cost is about $16, or about $12 if you can get it through a shopl Super easy to put on.

When you did the: White base, Put the letters down, spray the orange, then peel the letters off --

Did you peel the letters right after you are done spraying the orange color? Or did you let it dry then peel it off? Did you get any bleeding of orange under the letter mask?Any paint build ridges between the white and orange?

Just curious about how you did it. Really really looks nice in the pics. Thanks!

Roger - - the tailgate was newly painted and totally dry. The letters come as a 4ft strip with paper on both sides, all spaced and everything. I just put a strip of masking tape on the tail gate as a guide line, pulled the paper off the back side of the letters which reveals the letter sticky side; carefully laid the strip down, made sure there were no air bubbles under the letters, and then pulled off the top strip of paper; all that remains are the letters.
You're done! Double check the letters for air bubbles...
