Can i really go wrong???

Well as much as my girlfriend hates it I have found a truck that I "must" have. It is a complete 82 swb chevy 4x4 minus the engine, it was a guys project that he must sell asap due to city rules about non running vehicles.
The goods:
Fresh 700r4 and np208 (less than 5000 miles, direct replacement for my blazer)
recently regeared front and rear diffs to 4.10 ratio (exactly what I need)
good windshield w/ antenna (for me) good solid rear (Bro's christmas gift)
Billet dash pieces
100% rust free everything
new in box door panels, etc.
the joy of having another truck to part out for 800 bucks, is there anyway I could go wrong???

Re: Can i really go wrong???

The truck Was in Norman, but now it is at it new home in my driveway. Turns out it is bad ugly, no front clip, seat, crappy @$$ bed, no front leaf springs...

But the good held true (kinda)
1. 4.10 gears f&r with posi in the rear
2. very clean tranny- tc combo
3. Perfect windshield
4. nice dash, with the billet add-ons
5. reciever hitch that I can modify to work on the blazer
6. good tailgate
7. NOS door panels
8. All interior is above average -minus the seat which is MIA Line-X sprayed inside cab on floor.
9. rust free cab (prolly gonna cut the back outta it to make a removabe truck cab for the blazer)
10. girlfriend didn't leave me, always a plus!
got it all for 625 bucks, I feel like I did alright. We shall see in the morn!

I assume you meant Day Spa. If he gave her a gift card to be spayed, I think he would get neutered.

So it turns it it was an ugly POS and you bought it any way. cool...

Re: Can i really go wrong???

Not really all that hard to explain. We spent the day together (quality time) and went and got it, however she did kinda shake her head when she saw it. Oh well, it looks like it will be profitable for me, and I will wind up with the axles for FREE (which is the main reason for buying the pile!).

I already swapped the windshield over, and removed the billet pieces. Gotta get this ugly thing outta here!

Re: Can i really go wrong???

Welp fella's, it took me a little under 3 weeks (19 days to be exact) to strip her down and get it gone but as of yesterday it is someone elses project. I got everything off it I wanted, and the guy who bought it was happy as a lark to get it. He has been looking for a 4x4 swb frame for a while to build a mud buggy/toughtruck with. I told him if he would pull the axles and trans/tc he could have it for 100 bucks. He jumped at it!

The rear wound up having a powertrax (I think) locker in it, so thats a plus.
The truck also had extended braided stainless brakelines, prolly gonna sell them???
Other goods; steering column, reciever hitch, 7 blade fan and clutch, fan shrouds, NOS GM door panels (for a silverado), tailgate and hardware, lights, mirrors, guages, factory bed rails, a whole bunch of interior trim screws, and some other small stuff.
So I think I did alright, I got alot of parts now! Who needs some??? lol
