Question Clock Wiring ?

84 Suburban
Can anyone tell me which way the wires go?
I want to test my new used clock without hooking it up backwards. I am afraid reversal might damage the space-time continuum with unpredictable results.
The connector is shaped like a T, but which is the +?

Re: Clock Wiring ?

According to the '83 shop manual, the terminal with the orange wire (base of the 'T') is postive and the terminal with the black wire (top of the 'T') is ground.

Re: Clock Wiring ?

Thanks, my new clock works great!
The old one works OK, but it sounds like my shop compressor is running in front of the truck. The new one just makes the faintest hum.

Re: Clock Wiring ?

Good to hear.
Nuthin' like somethin' running like a clock, especially a clock.

My clock makes a ticking sound that I really didn't pay attention to it, until I went down to the Denver Tech Center with a co-worker in the truck a couple of years ago. He seriously thought the ticking sound was a bomb. I played along with it for a bit...
