Water in kick area
Where does the water that is pooling in the kick areas in my cab when it rains come from, and how do I get it to stop?

I'm not an expert on this by any means but i'd venture to guess your cowl area is rusted out and it leaks right into the cab of the truck... might be something for you to check out...

I just had to replace the Kick panels, rockers and A-post bottom s from this problem (see Rocker replacement 101) and mine was leaking in from teh drip rail. My caulking was shot and it had been that way since before I got it. Check out your caulking in the drip rail for starters. It can seap in from the seam and run down the windshield post and drip down right behind the dash. Now if you are lucky your side vents (oval fresh air vents in the kicks) are just filled with leaves and dirt. Open them up and feel inside for garbage. It this is it remove the vents and vacume out the inside then take a wire rod and poke down inside of them to free up the drip holes that let the water out when it gets in their. They are designed to have water run down them and then run out the lower corners.

Windsheild gasket could be leaking too. If you look real close to the bottom of the gasket in each side of the windsheild there are like drip holes in the dash that let the water drip off under the dash. Well my 71 has them anyway.
Check the gasket really good and see if it dried out or coming away from the cab.

Causes---windshield weatherstiping, driprail caulking, cowl rust out (look under the dash where the inner cowl and firewall are--there is some metal on metal overlay that tends to rust out. You can sometimes blow out the side air vent pockets with a compressor if you remove the vent flaps. Wear eye protection for sure.

Mine took too long to find (now have rust at the bottom of the kick panels
 ) but was eventually traced to a leaking rear window seal...

Take off the cowl panel and look at all the seams that has the old factory caulk in them. These seem to shrink over the years and leave these HUGE gaping holes for Mr. Moisture to come in and ....rain on your parade!
