tires and ride

im in a stock hieght 1986 2wd silverado im running the stock rally (always will) but the tires are bfwrench all terain t/a 2??/75r15 (need to look at them see what they are). And i started thinking she never goes off road so y have such a mean tread on a 2wd truck. I have a parts truck with looks like a car tire to me but its for light truck so im told they are 235/75r15 whould this make my truck ride/steer more like a car then a truck? What are ur opinions and such.

thx for any ideas

Re: tires and ride

235/75R15 is what your truck should have standard, it's entirely possible you got the P235/75R15 (vs. LT tires) so they will most likely ride better and roll easier. Me personally, I don't care for ride quality, it's a truck after all, the rear leafs can only do so much, no matter what tires you roll on. Now if you want car-like handling you may wanna go lower profile, something like 245/60R15 will make a huge improvement over whatever you got now. Only downside is you won't be able to haul as much in the bed, but if you're like me and use the truck primary as a daily driver that won't be of too great concern.

Re: tires and ride

I like the looks of 255/70x15 on 8" rims and they are the same diameter as the original 235/75 so your speedo will will still be accurate.

Re: tires and ride

I like 275/60/15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A's on 15x8 rims. Nice ride. Does throw the speedometer off a little though. I have an Autogauge tach mounted to the steering column that I use to judge my speed.

Re: tires and ride

If your Rallys are 15x8's and your looking at a 2/4 drop a lower profile tire would be your best bet such as a 245/6015 or 255/60/15, I have run both and they have plenty of sidewall to give you a nice ride.

Re: tires and ride

Well i think i have the 10in wide rims cause of the depth on the out side is more like 4 inches then my old two front ones where they were more near 3 inches. Any one got a clue here. I know they are wider then my old front one which is what i like Might keep the narrow one tho.

Re: tires and ride

GM Rallys came in either a 7"or 8" widths.10" Rally is a custom width.
Any Pics of the rims?
