Strange Oil Leak???
I have a oil leak from the second bolt on the right front side of my intake manifold. Its a Edelbrock.
There is no leak when the truck is running and no leak when I shut it off on short drives. There is a small, about a tablespoon full drop of oil in the indent where the bolt screws in the next morning when I go out to look. Could the manifold be cracked? I'm thinking about trying the non-hardening thread sealer. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: Strange Oil Leak???
Do you know if the bolts were sealed when it was installed? What you might want to try is take the bolt out and put ultra black sealer on the threads and that should fix your problem.

Re: Strange Oil Leak???
I had the same problem with my Edelbrock manifold. I cured the problem with "Permatex" High Temp Thread Sealant.
esll.

Re: Strange Oil Leak???
I must be doing something wrong or cracking up .
When I took the bolt out to clean it the oil seeped out of the manifold gasket around the bolt hole and the one next to it (towards the front of the engine). What's throwing me off is that its leaking at the front highest point with the engine off while the engine slants to the rear of the truck. Could there be too much oil pressure? Maybe the bolts too long and is bottoming out in the well? Its a standard oil presure pump. Anyway I used the high temp thread sealer and will wait until tomorrow to fire it up. Next I think I will replace the intake gaskets if this doesn't work. What a way to spend Christmas vacation.
