Brought a 67 SWB home

Went this weekend to pick up my 67 SWB from Teeitup had no problems getting up there, no problems loading(thanks for the help with the skidloader Randy). But the second we left town the problems began. The first two shots show the truck on the trailer and the tow vehicle a 04 Yukon on the side of the Kansas Turnpike. We had a fuel pump problem some how it wouldn't put fuel into the motor with the gage on empty lol. Ye just got too excited and forgot to get gas in Topeka

After an hour AAA brought us some gas and we were back on the way home. The next fun suprise id you can't push a truck off a trailer with3 flat tires. So fire up the 71 GMC and hook up the ram bar and pull her off the trailer and push her into position in the driveway. Brakes were locking on the 67 had to push a little hard.

Re: Brought a 67 SWB home

I think the cab is toast here is a shot of the most solid corner under all the dirt. The truck has already made me mad and I kicked a cab corner and my foot went right thru the bondo corner.

As you can tell this has had some friends in the past

This has to be one of the best juryrigs ever if your bat tray is gone cut a hole in the inner fender and use a piece of particle board to hold it up.

Started removing the front clip and and removing the cab. Plans are to use the cab, interior and 5 lug setup off the 71. Not sure if I will use a 67 Chevy or GMC grill. Probably one of the funnest trips I have had.

That battery box looks like it exploded. You have a fun project ahead of you.

Re: Brought a 67 SWB home

Looks like a fun project. I wish the cab on my current truck looked that good. (serously) It looks like the drivers side rear axle is sitting forward more than usual on the driveway picture.

Re: Brought a 67 SWB home

Ya the rear axle is a little off the trailing arm is missing on the drivers side. Working on this last night I also found out how to put on a 67 front grill is to cut two holes in it and then weld it to the frame with some 1/4 inch steel. When I get back in town I will post pics of this it kind of blew my mind. Something must have been rigged under the hood the engine and cab burned oh well I like my trucks extry crispy.
