Hi,

I found a set of rally wheels for sale locally for $50.00

They looked so good I thought I would take some pics at the Reservoir. Now I am no See-Ten and my truck is nowhere near as nice, but thought some of you might enjoy the photos.

PS anyone have tips for getting the darn hood lined up right?

If you got all four wheels, caps and trim rings for $50, and they're what you want, it's a great deal.

Yep all four with caps and rings, from a guy who needed the chevy car rally's. I like the way they look, but the only thing I don't really like is how far they tuck into the fenders. I am thinking about putting on some spacers to bring them out. Anyone doing this?

Yes, I have 1" spacers on the rear of my '69 C-10 and it looks a lot better. The 8" 6 lug Rally's are a little deeper to begin with, so a 1 1/2" may look great on your's. I just bought a set of bigger tires( 275/60/15's and 255/60/15's) and ECE drop springs and I'll post more pics when I get them on there. You can get a set of 6061 T-6 billet aluminum spacers on Ebay for a little over $200.

Lookin Good! I think before I spent $200 on spacers I would just buy some wider wheels. Those look like the later model 7" or 6.5"(?) rallys. Nothing wrong with how they look in my opinion. I think I'd run em a while and see if the offset grows on ya.

Thanks all, we will see on the spacers, I plan on doing a drop first, maybe the tuck will be a benefit when the body is lower. I am thinking about losing the rear step bumper as well.

Yeah, let some of the daylight disappear from between the chassis and the pavement, and they'll look more appealing.

4WD trucks in the mid-70's into the 80's.

I was going to comment on how nice it is to see your truck at stock height. But you plan to "drop" it. The wheels are really nice, and what a steal. Just what I want. BTW, the step bumper looks excellent on your truck, if you don't want it, send it my way!

Wheels look nice.
The hood maybe the hinges are up to high. Loosen the top and middle bolts on each hinge then push down on the hood hinges and see if it helps any. You may end up buying new hinges. If that doesn't work look at the ribet's that hold the hinges together. If there is a lot of slop in them take them off and put in a press and mash them back down some. This helped mine.

Ok, thanks for the tip. I plan on trying to line up everything this weekend if the weather holds up. All the panels are crooked and/or rubbing each other.

Sweet72-My truck is actually lowered 2" front and 2" back the previous owner must have done it. I called Early Classics to see about different suspension kits. They told me that the measurements they use for their kits are from the original factory ride height specs. Which is 19.5" from center of front axle to top of wheel well opening and in the rear they measure the actual spring while installed and empty bed at 12.5" I measured mine and came up with 17.5" in front and a 10" spring in back, hence the 2/2 drop. I know you didn't really ask for any of that, but I thought it was good info to have.

I was just busting you ba**s. I would have never guessed it had been lowered 2" (not much of a difference) already. Looks great!

First make sure your springs r good (hinge points)mine did this but they were good.I loosened the bolts 1 on top rear and the bottom 1 on each hinge then push up on hood a little bit more just enough to give it some pressure on the rear of hinge,keep this press. then tighten the bolts back down.Really need 2 people to do this process it is basically the same as ANDY said .This worked for me and have had no more problems but it sounds like all your panels need re-alined

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
