Talking Service Manuals

What is the difference between a chassis service manual and a chassis overhaul manual?

Re: Service Manuals

Good question. I'm going to say it's the depth into which information is offered. I have the chassis manuals for several different vehicles, and they cover servicing of the vehicle without going too deeply into overhauling the sub-assemblies of the vehicle.

Re: Service Manuals

The Chassis Overhaul manual shows how to overhaul the components listed in the manual. not how to remove them form the car or truck.

Re: Service Manuals

The chassis overhaul manual is awesome. I have an original and it outlines rebuilding everything from brake boosters to differentials and covers 1972 cars and light trucks. Gives many specs that aren't in any other manual I've seen.
