Re: 67 hood on a 71?
Using the ever so lovely search feature here at the forums (up in the top right on most pages), I was able to quickly answer your question:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=hood+swap I just searched for "hood swap". I looked for the thread with the most appropriate title, clicked it and BINGO! Kevin @ LFD designs has a thread around here which shows how to "pancake" or slope a hood on a 69-72 so it looks like the 67-68 trucks.

Re: 67 hood on a 71?
I think that's a awesome mod and looks great. I have a 71 GMC and prefer my style grill but love the look of the more sloped hood. I wish you could buy a fiberglass cowl hood like that I'd pay extra for it.

Re: 67 hood on a 71?
I think it was in Custom Classic Trucks that I saw a feature on how to section a '69-72 hood. The finished product was sleeker-looking than a stock hood, and I think it really looked great. Seems like the maximum slice on the leading edge is 2 or 2.5 inches, and is limited by the radiator support.
Makes me wonder why one of the aftermarket hood makers don't do a sectioned hood, with or without cowl induction. It would appease those who want a lower profile hood, yet done in a subtle manner.
