Re: A Suburban Joins The Herd

well i got some work done today, my buddy chris came over and helped, we got the frame rolling, all the fab work mocked up, air bags on.Then we put the body back on,and it looks cool with 15teens. The truck will sit for a few weeks so i can finish my 78, then pull the body off , clean and paint the frame ,run the brake lines and finish welding up every thing, sits nice here is a few pics

Re: A Suburban Joins The Herd

That looks great!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if it's the fact that you have great weather that allows you to work all year long or the fact that you have such a choice of vintage iron to play with....

I am convinced that I need to move...... it was 15 deg here today. I want to pull out my Burb and play too.....

Can't wait to see it completed.... you keeping this one? Or is this just a money maker? Just wondering... it's a great looking rig....

Regards!

Hi Dino, I have a question for you,

Why does the front crossmember have a cut out in the lower sump area, as you seem to have this truck very low.

I am just about to bag my 63 long fleet & as i am in the UK i want to go as low as possible without purchasing a complete new front suspension and pay for shipping and import duty etc etc,

I am on 2" drop spindles, Any info would be great, Thanks Darron

DARRON SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION,I STARTED THIS THREAD DOING A PANCAKE FRONT END ,THEN I SOLD THE TRUCK TO A FRIEND HE HAD IT FOR A FEW YEARS AND I BOUGHT IT BACKTHEN SWITCH UP TO ALL THE COOLEST D/M STUFF. SO TO ANSWER THE QUESTION I THINK YOUR ASKING ME ABOUT THE PANCAKE(STOCK FRONT END) THAT WAS THE OLD SCHOOL WAY YOU TAKE A SECTION OUT THE STOCK CROSS MEMBER AND MOVES THE SUSPENSION UP, HOPE THAT MAKE SENSE? ALSO THANKS JMEDERO
