Re: OREGON members!!!

I talked to Jose yesterday. He has his freshly restored 68 GMC short wide bed for sale. I am not sure what he is asking for it though or if it has A/C or not. It is a realy nice truck though. WES

The frame is out of a 70 shoert 4x4, you can see pics on an othere thread I had cab for sale. The cab is out of a 71 cheyenne, drivetrain is out of a 72 which you can also see pics on a other thread I had (green 72) Axles will be off the 72, Title and VIN are from the 72. So no, its not original!

Re: OREGON members!!!

Ernest, it all depends on who's buying it, me personally I don't want to have a bunch of money in a truck thats not vin, title and frame matching. I've seen trucks on ebay bring real good money and they have a 2wd vin on them. Sorry not much help, Thanks Randy

Re: OREGON members!!!

Randy,
i'll keep my eyes open here in nor cal. check out our local craigslist (sf bay area) they show up on there quite often. i know a guy with about 20 short 4x4s in 71 or 72 but he won't sell any of them-- he has about 40 trucks total. what kind of money are you looking to spend ? i know it depends on the truck but just looking to see your top dollar for a nice original truck.

Re: OREGON members!!!

Didn't realize anyone here was looking at this truck, but I read your other post about it today. I found it last weekend and rushed a deposit to him early in the week. He told me he had to call 4 or 5 other guys, after I left on Saturday; I guess you must have been one of those guys. Good luck with your search. Feel like doing a restore? My Cheyenne Super might need a new home now that I have this one, but I haven't decided yet. I'll keep you in mind.

Thanks. The paint is actually very good for being painted while it was still put together. The guy took off all the trim before painting. No rust. You would not believe the original rockers. I drove it 10 hrs home with not so much as a hiccup going 65-70MPH. The truck is the tightest one I've ever driven(67-72).
