New hope for an unfortunate situation
As a lot of you may know, I had to sell my Chevelle in order to put us in a better position financially. A lot of things have fallen into place however, including a step side truck showing up locally for sale. The bed and frame are good, but the body is rotted. I'm picking that truck up for $300 and I'll swap my body and suspension and brakes over so I'll have a short step again. My plan was to shorten my frame, but with a real tight budget, I think I'll be able to make a nice truck out of it and sell off enough parts to pay for it. Hopefully I'll be able to replace a lot of things while I have the body off and not have to skimp too much.
Pics to come! Meanwhile, I'm using an old truck of mine as inspiration..

Re: New hope for an unfortunate situation
Good luck with it. Im sure you will be able to get back what you paid for it via ebay and the board. Sounds like fun!
Post pics when you can, and im very sorry to hear about the chevelle. I would do just about anything for a 71 (except sell my truck)

Re: New hope for an unfortunate situation
I had promised that Chevelle to my daughter when she was 6. She's now 12, and it was a tough decision to take that away from her. On the other hand, we owned that blue step side when she was born and have many pics of her in it as a baby. She would always fall right asleep when riding in it and after talking to her last night and going over some old pics, she said she wants that truck more than the Chevelle..
