i got this email in response to my ad

i posted my truck on craigslist and i have gotten tons of scammers and most were about the truck but this one well its werid sorry for the long post its just strange

My name is Patricia Smith i am writing to you,just for u to help,because i have a problem with my Dad who i live with but right now due to our differences, i have left the country after the death of my Mom in United Kingdom. MY Dad works with Oil Contractors in Utah and Africa include some parts of the Asian and US. I work with my father as his personal auditor and we move around for his contracts wherever he is awarded.

My first boy friend, Johnson Mark, absconded with my dad's money which was kept with me after a completion of a contract in Salt Lake,US. When my boy friend got absconded with the undisclosed sum of USdollars, this brought the first broke up between me and my dad, cos he thought, we have the deal together, but not knowing that I'm an innocent about this. So my dad has been harsh and tough against me about this.

Then when I perceived all his behaviors towards me and the bad acts of his newly gotten wife, i decided to leave United Kingdom to meet a friend in middle Africa whom have meet during our stay there for a contract with SHELL PETROLEUM COMPANY. I left because my dad have been treating me bad and stopped me from working with him even having any access to his assets, and i felt no where to go than to leave the United Kingdom.

Now, I'm in need of your help, have gotten the enough money to run myself when I get to United Kingdom, i want to come over to your end and stay with you for main time, I don't want to live here anymore, you know I'm a foreigner here and it is absolutely danger for me here, so that is why i need your gesture assistance.

How i want you to help me? I have some money, which I've gotten from an over invoiced Contract renumeration executed by my dad with some contractors, so I have taken up the money from the contractors, but I'm hiding up from the girl I stayed with here in Lagos, because i might got setup if they know i have such huge amount of money (1.7million$), so for me to be more safe and secure, I put this money in a box and got it locked up with a security code known to me only, and I deposited the box with some of my traveling luggages with a Security and Insurance Company who render private diplomatic delivery service and i told them that the two boxes are my traveling luggage, which I want to send forth to United Kingdom because I'm returning home, then i paid them up their custody and security fee.

So, I want the box sent to you while i catch up with you as soon as it is been delivered to you while I pay you up your Rent charge and a reasonable amount for compensation, only 15% of the money in the box to you. Every arrangement for the delivery is kinda perfect, I have obtained customs papers for private freight and there are seals on the box showing that it is a private delivery and check performed, it is free from customs checks, it will be delivered at your door step by the diplomats of the security company, you do not need to burn out to receive it. And the boxes have security codes lock known to me only, only me can open the boxes, except if I tell anyone the Code, so the Boxes cannot be opened on the Way of delivery to you.
KINDLY ASSIST.GET TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF U ARE READY TO HELP ME.

Yeah pics! I got some really good pics of the Russian girls when the scammers were hard at it. Probably not of the person I was talking to. Some were real but never asked for dough but not as cute as the ones who asked for cask.. Africa is a definate give-away.

lol after doin that my "spammer" must had accidentally added me to their "friend" list. For over a year I got updates on her vacations, kids, husbands health and fwd jokes. It was entertaining to say the least

I think I just found another reason for living! I love messing with telemarketers and this looks even better. I may have to get a couple of throwaway e-mail addresses just for this purpose.

Me and the wife bought a house this year when we got married and the calls and junk mail has been horrendous. For a few weeks we were getting calls from a satellite installer feeding the standard line of "We have a team in your neighborhood..." My wife told them a couple of times that if they were in our neghborhood they would have seen the dish on our roof and they hung up. NOT good enough for me. The telemarketer must have been having a bad day, because when I interupted her and asked where exactly in my neighberhood the team was, she hung up on me. I felt mildly victorious until she actually called back 30 seconds later just to call me an a$@#&*e and hang up again!

You gotta love the use of the word "absconded". When is the last time that word was used by anyone. Geez, you would think that as long as these scams have been used, they would start using proper American English.

Had an alarm company keep calling our multiple lines at work about getting a security system. When their computer dialing called my home about a week later, I told the woman "No I can't talk right now, but you might want to call when these people are home....they really need and alarm" and I hung up.


I love getting even!!!!

I have to say I fell for it ONCE...I had a set of old 80's corvette wheels for sale on CL.

This guy from Greece said he wanted them shipped over , I thought no problem if you pay for shipping.

E-mails went back and forth for a couple of weeks.

Then one day, I recieved this WEIRD envelope....it was like a wax paper type of thing, with tons of overseas postage on it. When I opened it, it exploded...........no just kiding, there were copies of US checks with other peoples bank numbers and a note asking me to deposit, and send the rest back to another address.......It went straight to the shredder....

That same morning (before I arrived at my shop to open that letter) I received a wierd phone call, it was a "relay" call (never had one of those either) some guy was talking thru an operator/computer regarding the wheels....

The operator all of a sudden said "hold the line sir, we have a problem, hold for a supervisor"

When the super came on, it told me that this was an attempted scam.....I was like wow, that was trippy !!

Now I think its funny went I get e-mails from CL...

I've noticed its not happening as often.
