Starter Help 1978 Camper Speacil w/ 454 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Help the starter finally went out, went and picked up another today, the problem is there are 3 connections on the new starter the old only had 2, now it won't start, HHHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!

You must have put the purple wire on the outer stud. It goes on the inner stud.

i did that on my old impala when i was younger drove me nuts til i figured it out im glad to hear im not the only one who did that!
