C.O.R.R. Race Truck Owners/Racers ???
I would like to find out where the C.O.R.R. people are getting there Lifted/Long-travel Control Arms for two wheel drive trucks !!! I'm building a truck with '75 C-20 chassis into a Pre-runner type truck and need a set of 3" lifted long travel control arms for a truck meant to leave the ground and handle in sand and mud.
Do any of you guys know anybody doing this type of truck or racing ?!? |

I have a friend in Barstow,Ca that owns a fab shop. He builds pre-runners,trophy trucks, buggies, etc..... I can post his # for you tomorrow if you like. He can tell you anything you want to know. But for the most part, they are custom fabbed parts.

A lot of stuff on those are one-off custom pieces

Re: C.O.R.R. Race Truck Owners/Racers ???
Idealy I would like to find a pre-fab kit (all pieces pre-cut/bent) that I weld and assemble to my own satisfaction. I buy car frames and buggy frames like that in what is called a tack-kit where everything is bent and ready to weld and some parts are tack-welded to hold them together and I finish weld them if they meet my measurement standards. I don't have anyone jigged up to pop out a set of lifted A-Arms thats why I'm looking ! YES ! I intend to beat them to death Last edited by 67Cowboy; 01-01-2008 at 08:52 AM. |

If you have the coin, Max Fish at Bio Kustoms is in Hemet, CA. It is SoCal but he is a beast at this. He has a pre runner ford he did, lemme link you to it. And this Ford is beat on the dunes all the time.
http://www.streetsourcemag.com/ViewO...rofileID=43683 For something like that, it is almost really essential to have the truck in shop. Its going to take longer arms to get a lot out of it, simply b/c the arms swing on an arc.. longer the bars, long travel the wheel has before the end of the arc. |

His name is Wayne Newman and the name of his business is PRODIRT. Here is his #(760)267-1291. But I have to agree W/ Bagged Nissan it would most likely need to be in the shop. It's all custom stuff. Good Luck.

Re: C.O.R.R. Race Truck Owners/Racers ???
Thanks for the input guys, I'll try to post some photos later of why I'm trying to get away from stock control arms. After years of racing and building Modified vehicle of every type I know all to well about in-shop creations. That is the reason I'm trying to take a short cut and just buy a tack-kit !!!
73-91 trucks would all use the same arms and I know there are bound to be people out there who either still build these or have the jig to do so, I just need to find the right person; otherwise I'll just start from scratch and do like I have for many years and build it all in my shop. I'm in NEWBERG just north of SALEM. |

Re: C.O.R.R. Race Truck Owners/Racers ???
Fabtech used to offer some parts (including fiberglass) for 73-87's. I believe in an old catalog I had there was a 6" lift kit that included new springs, spindles, control arms and a double shock kit... I don't know if it's still available but anything's worth a shot...

I do not believe Fabtech has offered lift spindles for 73-87.. They do/did offer a coil/control arms lift. AIM use to offer a spindle but no longer due to demand (lack of?, I have seen quite a bit of interest just on this message board....) and I have never heard anything good about AIM anyways.. As far as a "tack kit" I do not believe there is one available. It has been awhile since I was in the 73-87 prerunner market/world but unless something has changed in the past 2yrs there really isnt much available....
