Re: Dual Exhaust on 6's
Man thats a nice 53. I like how it sounds.
I heard a 51 Chevy with a 216 once, it had dual 1bbls, cast iron headers, and true duals with Smithy steelpacks. Man what a sweet sound it had. |

Re: Dual Exhaust on 6's
i think the reason a 6 sounds so good with 3+3 dual exhaust, is the firing order.
1-5-3-6-2-4. each time a cylinder fires, it's in a different set of headers, and thus a different exhaust pipe. which leads to a very smoooooth sound, if you ask me. http://www.t6racing.org/id8.html check out this link, there are some videos of Larry Page, a straight 6 lover and drag racer. his 250 runs 3 4-barrel Holleys, i think, and headers. so, it's a chance to hear the sound of dual exhaust, albeit being open headers. and heres a link to a very bad quality video (i was took close to the outlets) of the 292 running with open headers on the '69 K20. enjoy. and keep it inline. -Sam.
