Re: Reverse lights or no?
are you using it as a truck or are you going to customize it?
the stock OEM reverse lights always looked like an after thought to me... -W |

I prefer no reverse lights. Looks clean without them.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
If you are building it for me, I would like them on there and working. But if you are keeping it for yourself, I would put on whatever you prefer.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
I was thinking about installing a set on my '63.
As a matter of fact....a while back I posted a question about there position in relationship to the taillights....So I would know where to drill the holes.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
Interesting my truck is a 66 and doesn't have them. Thinking it was a stepside that later was changed to a fleetside.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
you cant just drill a hole, there is a shape in the fender so it will mount flat, i personally like these, i have a 66 and paid 300 for a old fender that matched my good one and had it shipped to me from NC

Re: Reverse lights or no?
I put them on my 62, used them for blinkers. I used about a 2" hole saws. Mounted flush...No problems...I like these truck with or without them..

Re: Reverse lights or no?
they make 'em, but only in amber and red. Not cheap at $60/pair.
I think a pair of these in LED w/ clear lenses would be pretty cool for reverse lights. ![]() |

Re: Reverse lights or no?
I dont like the rev. lights but its your own prefrence I think the rev. lights came out in late 65 so only the second half of the trucks was made with them in that year so not every truck up to 65 had them just like seatbelts I love the fact that my truck was not built with seatbelts so if I forget to belt up no problem.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
My 66 step didnt have them, and my 66 fleet doesnt have them. My old 66 step had a 67-72 bed on it. I dont know what the deal is with my fleet. I'd actually like to have them, but it does look "cleaner" without IMO.

Re: Reverse lights or no?
On Suburbans, I've seen the round chrome bezels with clear lenses that stick out an inch past the bezels, and I recent bought a set off of a Suburban that had glass lenses that were recessed in the bezel. They look a lot like the reverse lights on '54-'56 Buick cars!
My '62 Suruban doesn't have reverse lights, but I drive the truck daily, and there are many times at night when I wish I had reverse lights to see behind me. I wouldn't want the lenses that stick out past the bezel though. The ones I have, I think will look okay. -Brad

Re: Reverse lights or no?
I like them. I like the chrome rings they put around the taillights and backups on fleetsides.
