Think how cool it would look with this beast laying on the ground, and both doors open with only a litle B-pillar in the middle!

Re: Crewcab build

Hey Rob....on my 06 F-350 the rear doors (extra-cab, suicide rear doors) open outward away from the truck.....What about using these style hinges ??

The door actually pulls away a pretty good amount...

Actually, these are just the same style hinges as the OG black crew, just behind the skin of the truck. So mabey they wont work.

If you set the hinges just behind the door skin, would you have enough throw to get that sucker away from the truck ??

Check it out...

Re: Crewcab build

Do you guys love making more work for me?
I'm really kicking myself for not grabbing a set of hinges from a lincon continental at the junkyard a few weeks ago! If I go the suicide route, the pillar between the doors can disappear, and I just have to work the latching mechanism them. Hmm, this might be less work total then trying to get the doors to work normally. I'm off to the shop soon, I'll snag my girlfriends camera to take good pictures today!

Re: Crewcab build

Nice! Thanks for the pictures, it makes it so much easier to know what someone is talking about when you can see it. I'm going to my old car research area(pick n pull) before I go to the shop, to see if I can get some hinge ideas, and possibly snag some conti hinges.
