Re: Remember These????
Some gutter guy has owned it for awhile. But,that`s original paint and the elephants were the logo.I saw them in service until nearly 1990.That one`s on Ebay.I`m not sure what part of the country.

Re: Remember These????
I`m not sure how wide spread that company was.I was around the country alot in the`70s,but I recall seeing these regularly most places.I kept seeing the retired ones around for years. You may have an old one,Mike.
Anyone seen a horn like that before?My`72 Sierrra hasone like that in the same location. It looks like one of those electric "diesel train" horns.I haven`t had mine working to hear it.

I remember seeing the box with the elephants on it. Can't remember the name of the company though.

Re: Remember These????
Oh that truck brings back not-so-pleasant memorys.
I worked for a coin-op video game/pinball/pool table company back in the early 80's. The company had one of those trucks. I think it was a 71 or 72. It was nicknamed the "Elephant Truck". I loved driving it. At the time I had my 69 C10 Custom. We used it for hauling coin-op equipment around most often in the spring and fall for transporting stuff to resorts east of Fargo in the Detroit Lakes MN region. I want to say that was Ryder's logo and color from the period.

Re: Remember These????
We had them here in North Alabama ... or at least in my hometown. The local Honda motorcycle dealer handled them. I remember the green color and the Mama elephant and baby elephant ... haven't thought about that in years.

Re: Remember These????
I remember them. My neighbor has a C-50 that was one of their trucks, still green and I think there may be some of the decals left inside the cab.

Re: Remember These????
I've got a one ton furniture truck spotted.I keep looking but just haven't had the extra $$ to ask for a price. It's a local co. Just don't know if I could justify it to the QOV.

Re: Remember These????
I owned one those trucks. In a whopper size - c_60, I think, 1970 model.
It definitely was "EZ-Haul." Nasty-green cab, white big box-body rear. Still could see the EZ-Haul logo on the side (& the two elephants) when I bought it. Used it in an insulation business I owned at that time. |
