Looking for hubcaps, k20
I mangled up a perfectly nice pair of hubcaps today. I was trying to cut the center out to use on the front of my 71 k20. I have another pair I can try to mangle less, but I would really love to have a pair of factory fronts if anyone runs across some. The later model ones with the yellow bowtie are fine.

Did you try to drill them or cut them? I need a set as well and was considering drilling some out. Mike

Re: Looking for hubcaps, k20
I cut them. with a little bit of lip left over. I went to Lowes and found a plumbing pipe cap that was big enough to just slide over the front hubs. I positioned that behind the cap after I had cut it and tried pounding the cut edge down around the pipe edge to make my cut smooth. Is this making sense? LOL. Anyway it didnt work out like I had hoped. I ended up using a tin snips that didnt want to cut properly and sort of hacked up the edge instead.
Im pretty sure I can do it right on the next shot. Too bad it took me a couple of nice caps to figure it out. I would rather have a couple of factory cut caps though. If none turn up Ill cut up another pair. Im sure with much better results =) Last edited by CG; 01-21-2008 at 03:15 PM. |

I have a set (4) of full size wheel covers for a 4x4 if interested. I can get pics on Monday. $25 plus the ride.
