Re: Forward Tilting Hood?

Yep seen that one. That's the one that got me thinking. I'm not sure yet how low I want to go, but if I get into the inner fenders too far then hood hinges start to become an issue pretty quickly. I'd like to see others how have done this same style thing and how they did it. Especially the tracks/guides at the firewall. Thanks for the link

On my tandem project so far all the major sheet metal work is basically done on the cab. It has new rockers, corners, half the floor, rear cab mounts, doors patched and ALOT of holes filled for mirrors and chrome that wont be used anymore. I filled a total of 52 holes on the firewall just to get a clean factory firewall. It would have been easier to cut it out and smooth the whole thing. Anyway right now I'm focused on getting the frontend down on the ground and fitting motor and trans, steering, etc.. Then I'll get into the frontend sheet metal to get it in pretty good shape before I start cutting on the rear. It will likley get a complete new rear frame section to keep it clean and simple. I'll be using a pair of 9" Ford axles back there with the rearmost axle having an offset pinion. The axle shaft is out being shortened and replined right now. More detail on that later on but this tandem will actually work. Both rear axles will be driven via seperate driveshafts (one for each axle) using a divorce mounted NP205 transfer case turned backwards. Here's a link to the frontend work I'm into right now.
