There are 3 different tailshaft lengths on the 350. 6"-9"-12". If you have the 9" the 700r will use the same driveshaft. I think our trucks came with the 6" 350 unless someone changed it.

Would a 700r from an 87 2.8L V-8 work? I was thinking I may have read something about a 2.8L not bolting up to a 350 V8

you DO NOT want that one. even if it bolted up (I doubt it will) it is total junk. they dont even hold up to a 2.8.
