Build Threads?

Does anyone know the status on getting a 73-87 build thread section? I am wondering because I am always interested in others progress and I plan on creating my own when I start my build.

Re: Build Threads?

i did the poll and it was overwhelming that people wanted it but i have yet to hear from the powers that be here .. Ultimately it is their decision.

Re: Build Threads?

I had been wondering the same thing. I knew the poll was in favor of, but I hadn't seen anything official whether or not we get it. I sure hope we do! ...Joe

Re: Build Threads?

This is just my opinion, but I don't see that one is needed right now. While there are a few guys that are actively working on their projects, there aren't that many. I know we all can use words of encouragement to motivate us, that's why I do the "What did you get done" post each week. I feel that adding another sub-forum would only serve to dilute the traffic in the main 73-87 forum.

I am not an Admin, so I don't have an "official" say on what forums are added. If you disagree with my opinion, then please discuss it with the Admins.

I know there was a poll run on the subject, but in the meantime lets get honest input here.

Re: Build Threads?

ID love to see one and the reason being that anyone can start a thread and document their progress in one place on their truck. My truck was bought in October 07 and even tho ive kinda taken a break for the winter, id still like to have one spot where i can look online to see the whole thing and document feelings , observations , photos, etc as well as get feedback from fellow enthusiasts and an occasional kick in the butt when i do something that isnt a good mod . I would also be able to follow the progress of others trucks and get ideas as others would get ideas from me as well as getting some encouragement when i get tired of my truck or feel that the hill is just too steep in this project

Re: Build Threads?

I think its a good idea. The 67-72 guys get a project/build sub-forum. We are the second most popular group of posters in these truck forums. I think this would warrant atleast a polling by moderators to possibly add a sub-forum for build threads here. Just my $.02

Re: Build Threads?

I think the projects and builds here just get lost in the other threads. It would be nice to have them all in one place and easily accessable. I don't think It'll slow down the traffic a whole lot on the main forum

Re: Build Threads?

A build thread section would put all of the build thread into one nice, easily accessible location, instead of having them spread all over the place, and getting lost amongst the other threads.

a polling by the staff was done, and most agreed it would not get enough traffic or use to be done. A poll was then done by members in which 50 or so said they wanted one, which again is not a whole lot in total.
Keep on discussing this for against etc, like Ken suggested and we will present this to Josh again.
