Question Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

I've been looking at cowl hoods for my '68 and am hearing a few different names out there, as well as how many steel cowl hood / '67-'72 sheet metal manufacturer's there actually are. I've heard of Dynacorn, Triplus, and now recently, one called golden-legion. I've heard good and bad about some...but wanted to get the word from our panel of experts.

Who's replacement steel body panel products are good, who's are bad.....and why? And if you were to buy a steel cowl hood...who's would it be?

Re: Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

I have a steel cowl hood. I believe they are all made by the same manufacturer and then different distributors sell them under different brand names. Mine fits great.....

Re: Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

The one on GQ is Goodmark, If it were me, I'd find the closest Super Chevy Show,
find a vendor there, see the hood in person before you buy it, and save huge $$$.
(This's what I did, in TN we have no tax at the shows, obviously no shipping either)

I paid $375 for mine

Re: Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

I have a local guy selling for $400 and will deliver it within a certain radius for that price. he said his sheet metal were golden-legion parts, and that the only other manufacturer was dynacorn.

Now I'm hearing there is really only one manufacturer? Who is it? So Goodmark doesn't make their own either???

Re: Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

IIRC Goodmark,Tri-plus and one or two others are all made by the same folks.

Re: Cowl hood- manufacturer's?

Not sure who makes it, but I got mine from LMC. Seems to be very good quality and fits pretty well with a little adjusting. Overall very happy with it.
