OK guys it's official. I have a sickness!!

I pulled in yet another 1 ton tonight. I just can't seem to help myself. I have been trying to downsize my fleet for weeks, but this was too good of a deal to pass up (aren't they always). It's a '69 GMC C3500 Dumper with a 351E V6 in front of a NP-435-GA 4 speed and a Dana 70 rearend. As bad as it looks, it runs great and the dump works great as well. It was used in a junk yard (hence the rattlecan'd "Junk Yard Dog" on the door) and the body is rough, but body parts are something I have plenty of. Oddly enough the dump body is in great shape. It is mechanically sound and has power steering and power brakes which is not all that common with the V6's. The doors are in the back because they were going change them and ended up deciding not to. Still yet it drove up on the ramp truck everything seems to work. I think I'll just change out the cab with a '67 GMC cab I already have. I have need for a dumper and just couldn't let it pass by!

Another thing is that it has big 18" wheels 8 hand hole wheels and the tires are almost 33" tall!

Re: OK guys it's official. I have a sickness!!

You can tell how bigger the wheels and tires are than the 235/85/16's on my ramp truck.

That's a clean old truck. If the engine is original, it would be a big V6 truck also judging by the hood emblems. I don't know why, but I love these old V6's!

Hey 67_C-30, that is an awesome find! Those 18 inch wheels look just like the split rims that were on my '69 ramp truck, the one that looked identical to yours.

That must them, because these are split wheels also. I wish they were 1 piece wheels because they look cool. I have no idea where I could find these 18" tires either. I may just use the 17.5" 1 piece wheels that came on my '67 C-30. Just looking at the rear drums, I don't think a regular 16" rim is going to clear. Tires for the 17.5's are easy to find also since a lot of the UD and Volvo cabovers still run 17.5's.

LOL! You know it! Short breaths - Baby - short breaths. She immediately banished it to the back. I may use that cab I got from you because the dump body all but covers up that rear area. Just pull it out a little, weld up those holes, smear a little mud in it and let it ride! Looks like I'm gonna need that '67 GMC grill too.
