If you look closely you will see trailing arms and a dana 60 housing under that 3/4 ton. That Dana 60 housing was under that truck when it left the factory in 1968 as were the HD coils.

...i dont have any written documentation but the guy that owns the parts store in town worked putting these trucks together at the factory and he told me gmc was leaf chevy coil unless it had a leaf spring option
