Need an idea of the cost of AC and altenator brackets for 1973+ trucks???
My new Super has factory a/c and I have all the brackets for it. We changed the motor mounts and crossmember to a 73+ up style and we have had to replace the power steering setup and now the stock altenator brackets won't fit. This means that my dad wants to put regular alternator brackets on the pass. side of the engine, instead of the driver's. Well, behind his back, I am going to locate the A/C brackets and alternator brackets from this 73+ style. I don't know if I will need any pullies or if I could use mine(the one on the front of the timing chain) Anyway, if anyone has ever changed over like I have and added air back, How much does these parts run, and what parts do you think I will need??
Thanks Trevor

Everything will have to be changed, all pulleys and all brackets. BUT, this is a very common setup. THere are two different ones, however, with some variations such as attachment points for PS braces and pulley ratios. 69-76 and 77-87. The main difference is the upper alternator bracket attaching point, I like the earlier one better. Cars and trucks are the same. If it were me, I'd get the right PS bracket for your pump housing and use your original brackets. swapping the alternator and AC compressor requires lots of wiring and AC plumbing mods. PITA IMO.
